1. How does RideShots work for riders?
RideShots connects you with photographers who capture your moments while you ride.
Visit our locations page to find out where and when will our photographers be.
On your ride, keep an eye out for photographers' "Photo Point" signs along your route.
For easier photo matching, you may snatch a QR code from the photographer's sign.
2. How do I find my photos?
After your ride, a coffee and a crocroissant, head to the RideShots.cc website.
Using a QR code you scanned from a photographer's sign, by taking a selfie, or by uploading your GPX ride details,
you can search for your photos taken during a ride.
If a photographer captured you, your photo will be available for purchase!
3. How do I purchase my photos?
Once you've located your photos, purchasing is simple.
Just select individual photos or bundles (if available), add them to your cart,
and check out directly on the RideShots platform.
You'll receive instant access to download your high-quality images.
4. Can I propose different locations?
Currently, our photographers work along predetermined routes (see locations page),
but you can always reach out to RideShots via email at info@rideshots.cc and suggest a specific location or event, or just to say "Hi!".
5. What happens if I can't find my photo?
If you've passed a photographer and can't find your photo,
check back later as images might still be processed and uploaded to the platform.
If you still can't locate it, feel free to contact RideShots support
at info@rideshots.cc, and we'll help you track it down.
1. How do I get started as a photographer with RideShots?
Send us an email with your information,
including your name, location, a list of your gear, and a link to your portfolio (optional),
to set up your profile. We'll provide suggestions for iconic climbs and high-traffic spots near your home.
You can also propose your own locations to shoot. Joining RideShots is completely free.
Once ready, you can choose your schedule and start capturing amazing shots.
2. How does RideShots help me find clients and stand out?
RideShots handles marketing by bringing cyclists to you through the platform.
We also provide branded swag (e.g., t-shirts, QR codes, and a portable 'Photo Point' sign)
to help you stand out. You can also spread the word about RideShots to increase your reach.
3. How does the photo upload and payment process work?
Uploading photos is easy on our platform, which handles tagging and distribution.
Just make sure the metadata (EXIF), including GPS location data and timestamp, is intact.
When cyclists purchase your photos, you'll receive instant payouts via Stripe or PayPal—no delays, just fast earnings.
4. What equipment do I need to join RideShots as a photographer?
To ensure high-quality photos that meet our platform's standards, we expect the following from you:
- A passion for photography, some physical stamina to work outdoors and excitement to capture cyclists in action.
- A modern camera (mid-range or higher) with additional spare batteries.
- A good standard zoom lens, ideally covering focal lengths between 70mm and 200mm.
- Optional: A wide-angle lens for creative shots or a telephoto lens for close-up action.
- GPS logger to embed location data if your camera doesn't support it natively.
